The first post office was established in 1878, and the railroad came through 10 years later. The town’s name was officially changed to Palm Harbor in 1925. Palm Harbor is located on 26.6 square miles of land that are situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Its hilly terrain makes it unique in the state of Florida, which is mostly flat. The hills give the town a very scenic ambiance.
